Just as an FYI, the site from which you are posting information is a front for plaintiffs’ law firm Early, etc. The information is not geared towards public health but towards those occupationally exposed to asbestos decades ago so that they may represent them in lawsuits. Mesothelioma can take 30+ years to manifest. After a mid-1980s ban, asbestos use in the US declined sharply and worker safety guidelines improved so there is little risk of an occupational exposure these days (unless your business is asbestos removal). The EPA website has good information on what the public in general should be aware of – mainly during remodels of older homes.

  2. Thanks for your concern and for drawing our attention to the EPA website. Yes, it is true that most people suffering from Mesothelioma were exposed many years ago, but sadly public knowledge about this is surprisingly lacking. Many people don't realize that asbestos is still often a concern at construction sites and removal sites.
